Charlotte has passed a law to allow transgender people to choose public restrooms that adhere to their gender identity. Gov. McCrory plans to block the decision saying it’s a threat to public safety.
The council passed the bill 7-4 yesterday, with Charlotte’s Mayor Jennifer Roberts saying: “I’m pleased that Charlotte has sent a signal that we will treat people with dignity and respect, even when we disagree.”
