N.C. State University has joined other N.C University’s to ban the use of the popular hoverbord on campus.

The reason is because of the concern with lithium-ion battery fires and injuries related to the electronic scooter. There have been numerous reports of the device bursting into flames while being charged that have resulted in a fire that burns with intense heat.

In a release from the University by N.C. State University hoverboards can no longer be brought on campus and that students can put them in temporary storage if they wish.
