Funeral services are planned for today at 1pm for 1yr old Maleah Williams who was shot in a drive by shooting in Chapel Hill on Christmas Day.
People and families crowded the street in front of the Trinity Court apartment complex for a vigil last night. This was where the little girl was gunned down on Christmas day as she played with her toys. Those in the community express their anger about the violence in the area and gun control.
During the rally, NC-NAACP’s Rev. William Barber expressed his thoughts about curbing community violence by standing together.
Three men have been charged with murder in the death of Maleah, who died Monday. Shaquille Oneill Davis, 22, Ramone Jamarr Alston, 22, and Pierre Je Bron Moore, 23 are all being held in the Orange County jail.
A funeral will be held today at 1 p.m. at Chapel Hill Bible Church, 260 Erwin Rd. in Chapel Hill. The family will receive friends at noon.
