This morning began outside in front of the court house where family members and friends of Treyvon Martin met to sing Happy Birthday to the slain teen who would have turned 18 today.
Inside a judge denied George Zimmerman’s request to delay his trial in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. The trial remains set for June 10.
Zimmerman is on trial charged with second-degree murder for shooting Trayvon Martin, who was unarmed, and walking in the apartment complex of his father. Zimmerman called police and described Treyvon as suspicious. Zimmerman says he fired in self-defense after the teen attacked him.
