Bernice King says she’s “no longer a member,” only because God has given her another assignment.
There has been lots of talk about Bernice King’s, daughter of the late Martin Luther King, resignation from being an elder at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church where Bishop Eddie Long is Pastor.
In an interview Bernice set the records straight that her departure had nothing to do with the allegations or settlement with Bishop Eddie Long. Rev. King says that she only planned to attend new Birth of a season and during one of Bishop’s sermons, about seven years ago, the Holy Spirit spoke to her about her next assignment. Rev. King says she knows that she has a pastoral calling on her life and is in hte process of pursuing that. She is set to launch a ministry and will spend the next several months preparing and building that.
