Some NC taxpayers have received inaccurate notices stating they owe state taxes for 2008.
Less than 2,000 taxpayers are affected and the revenue department has already started correcting the problem. The notices were dated and mailed on March 2nd. If you have received a notice call the revenue department’s Taxpayer Assistance branch at 1-877-252-3052 with a “reason code” of 893
