It’s really HOT, and groups around the Triangle are gearing up to help the most vulnerable people to heat.   Today temperatures will be in the upper 90s, and by afternoon, the heat index top out over 100 degrees.

Wake County’s Cool for Wake is one of the programs helping people vulnerable to heat. The program gives fans to about 300 to 500 households that don’t have air conditioning. The households must include a senior citizen, child or disabled adult and have to be recommended by a social services worker or health professional.  The program also takes donations of new window air conditioning units.  For other questions call them at 919-212-7083.
