Officials at Fayetteville State University has just announced that Dr. Peggy Valentine will serve as interim chancellor after Chancellor James Anderson announced his decision to step down last month.
Bill Roper, the interim president for the University of North Carolina System, said in a written statement that Valentine will assume the chancellor role on Aug. 7.
