Prayer Vigil For Shooting Victim Laquan McDonald Held At Chicago Police HQ

A prayer gathering was scheduled for 7am today at Vintage Church in Raleigh to pray for the victim and family and the situation when a black man was shot and killed by a Raleigh police officer on Monday.

A protest was held yesterday as many marched from southeast Raleigh into downtown, blocking the evening commute while shouting “Black Lives Matter.”

In the meantime the Raleigh Police Protective Association support the actions of Senior Officer D.C. Twiddy who shot and killed 24-year-old Akiel Rakim Lakeith Denkins of Raleigh in pursuit of a drug charge.
