After 20 years investigators finally have the proof they needed to convict Edwin Christopher Lawing of the 1996 death of Lacoy McQueen.

A jury decided on life in prison for Lawing in the case where his then girlfriend McQueen was killed after revealing she was pregnant; something Lawing didn’t want.

McQueen’s blood was found in Lawing’s North Carolina State University dorm room, and a pebble on Lawing’s shoe matched rocks found at the site where her body was found in a wooded area off U.S. 1 in Kittrell, in Vance County.
