Many of us know first hand how difficult mother-daughter relationships can be. Angie Stone has had a long struggle with her daughter Diamond. We watched some of those struggles on the reality show R&B Divas: Atlanta last year. Bishop T.D. Jakes had the duo on his show to mend their fences.
Earlier this year the relationship between Angie and her daughter Diamond too a violent turn that resulted in Angie being arrested. Now the mother daughter duo have turned to Bishop T.D. Jakes for fixing.
The struggle is evident that there is a great deal of hurt between the two. Below is just a taste of the polar opposites they live on.
Diamond: Anytime we argue, she’s curses me, her mother curses me…
Angie: You curse your 71-year-old grandmother and me out. Okay.
Diamond: But why?
Angie: As a mother, if I’m not allowed to communicate with you as a mother and daughter…
Diamond: Before you sit here and tell the world that I cursed you out, tell them why.
Angie: But you don’t listen. I’m your mother and you never listen. But Diamond, I’m your mother.
Diamond: But what does that mean? If you’re my mother and everything you say is supposed to go, when do I get to express myself?
Bishop T.D. Jakes turns to the camera and says exasperatedly and said; ‘Now you know if this is what’s going on, on national TV can you imagine what’s going on in the house? Can you imagine?’
You can watch the entire show below and Bishop Jake’s struggle to help the two heal:
What did you think? What side are you on? Is there a side?
