Tyscot Records recording artist Ruth LaOntra’s CD Release party for her debut CD “So Good” was held Thursday November 21, 2013 at Faith Assembly Christian Center in Durham North Carolina under the leadership of Pastor Mary D. McKenzie. The church was packed and Ruth LaOntra and her band put on an amazing performance. The Light 103.9’s Jerry Smith served as the MC for the event.
Several of Ruth’s family members shared the stage with her through out the evening. Ruth’s LaOntra’s Grand Mother Evangelist Lydia Jones gave a powerful word that set the atmosphere for the evening. Ruth LaOntra’s CD “So GOOD” is a blend of contemporary, praise and worship and a little traditional flavor. Ruth LaOntra showed off her vocal range and command of her voice.
Those who saw her perform for the first time with her full band and show were surprised by her polished performance, stage presence and the quality of the band’s sound. Look for great things to come from this talented young lady from Aberdeen North Carolina mentored by her father Arvetra Jones a long time Gospel radio announcer and record executive.
