It was originally decided that the fireworks at Ft. Bragg would be cancelled due to sequestration… but thanks to a sergeant’s contest winning essay the event is a GO!
Staff Sgt. Jeff Wells described in his essay how much his community deserved a Fourth of July celebration and how the sequestration had snuffed it out.
It was enough to convince Destination America, a Discovery Communications television network to select Fayetteville as one of the grand prize winners!
* Activities begin at 4:30pm at Festival Park, downtown Fayetteville
* Mavericks playy 8pm
* 9:15 a 30 minute fire works display.
