Carolina Panther Steve Smith donated $100,000 to the survivors of the Colorado shooting. Smith mentioned the donation during Panthers’ training camp, which kicked off today in Spartanburg. Smith asked his agent to publicize the contributions to challenge other NFL players to also contribute money to help the survivors.

“I can’t imagine getting someone severely injured and dealing with that, and now you’ve got to figure out how to pay for it,” Smith told reporters. Smith’s son attended the midnight show in Charlotte on the evening of the Colorado shootings.
