The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for counties across North Carolina, including Chatham, Durham, Edgecombe, Granville, Harnett, Johnston, Orange, Robeson, Wake and Wilson.

The watch begins Friday and lasts through Saturday evening. The National Weather Service says, “Those planning travel across the region during this time should consider alternate plans as travel may become dangerous.”

The Triangle and areas north could see several inches of snow, and areas south of the Triangle will likely see sleet and ice.

Driver should be award of road crews who are getting prepared for the wintry-mix. The weather is likely to cause cancellations of some evening sporting events.
