Governor Pat McCrory announced Wednesday that there are now 20 confirmed storm-related deaths in North Carolina following Hurricane Matthew.

Some rivers are still rising making flooding situations even worse in areas already under water.   The Neuse River at Kinston is forecast to crest at record level on Saturday. The Tar River crested late Wednesday night in the Tarboro/Princeville area. The floodwaters are now moving towards Greenville, which should see the Tar River crest Friday

One of the latest deaths was confirmed on Wednesday of 81yr old Isabelle Ralls, who was found dead inside her vehicle in the 100 block of Rhodes Pond Road at about 3:20 p.m. Monday. According to the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office, Ralls’ death was the result of accidental drowning in floodwaters.
