New and upcoming Christian artist James Johnson stopped by the studio today to introduce himself and his music “Agree” and to tell us a little bit about his journey.

James Edward Johnson Jr., is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. He is the son of Reverend James Sr. and Barbara Johnson. He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System, having graduated from the Baltimore School for the Arts. It was at the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, MD, where he continued his musical studies, with a focus in Jazz Performance. At the age of 5, Minister Johnson began playing the drums and organ at his home church in Baltimore, Maryland, Mt. Zion C.O.G.I.C., where his father Reverend James Johnson, Sr., serves as Pastor, and his mother, Lady Barbara Johnson serves as Minister of Music. In 2001 Minister Johnson began working in the field of music production, songwriting and arranging. It was through this new found passion where he has produced, performed, recorded and written for several artist including, 3 Wise, Alvin Slaughter, Maurette Brown-Clark, Stephen Hurd, Mark Gross, Michael Austin, Doreen Vail,Bishop Rudolph McKissick and a host of other notable musicians and entertainers. In June 2008, James became the Minister of Music, Worship and Arts at the Cedar Street Baptist Church of God, located in Richmond, Virginia. Read More….
