In the meantime a preliminary autopsy report reveals that Denkins and Raleigh Police Senior Officer D.C. Twiddy struggled before the shooting.A preliminary autopsy report shows Denkins was shot in the chest, both arms, and shoulder, however it didn’t specify whether the wounds outside the chest were from the front or back.
Denkins’ mother and witnesses say Akiel was shot in the back while running away from police near Bragg and East streets just after noon Monday.
Further investigation is going on.
