With the current strain in relations between law enforcement and communities of color in the United States, many aren’t feeling the Christmas spirit this holiday season. Last night in Baltimore, veteran multimedia journalist Pete O’Neal united everyone for a common cause: to deliver toys to less fortunate children. At least 400 people–including various branches of law enforcement, first responders, Radio One Baltimore and News Channel 2 staff–showed up to participate in the toy convoy for It’s Kindertime Toy Drive. Thousands of toys were delivered to 4 different non profit organizations in Baltimore, including Ronald McDonald House. Sponsors and partners included Walmart, News Channel 2 and Radio One Baltimore.
This is Pete O’Neal’s 16th year organizing the toy drive and the back story is absolutely touching. If you haven’t been feeling the Christmas spirit you will after watching this.
Radio One Baltimore (Magic 95.9/92 Q) personalities LaDawn Black, Konan, and April Watts discussed the great feeling of giving back and thanked Radio One Baltimore listeners for their contributions to the toy drive.
