A federal judge jailed Rowan Co. clerk Kim Davis for refusing to issue marriage license to gay couples.
Davis who was seen on television refusing to issue a marriage license to a gay couple was jailed for contempt today. The judge says he jailed her because he didn’t believe she would comply to his order even if she was fined.
Davis testified in court that she wasn’t able to believe anything else since she became a Christian and therefore on God’s authority she wouldn’t issue marriage licenses to gay couples.
