Here is more about Bishop Alphonso Smith and his congregation:

Bishop Alphonso L. Smith is the founder and Senior Pastor of Destiny Worship Center Cathedral in Raleigh, NC. He received his call to the ministry in October, 1987 and has been preaching and teaching the Gospel to all those who have an ear to hear. Bishop Smith is known as “The Encourager” because of his God-given gift to motivate, inspire and give hope to the masses. He faithfully serves as Pastor of an exciting and unique ministry where hip hop blends with the Word of God to create magnificent worship, awesome praise and a life changing Word, in a love filled atmosphere. Bishop Smith has authored the book, “What In The Hell Happened?” This book is an intimate look at marriage and relationships. He is also the Executive Producer of a CD entitled “Legendary”. Bishop Smith is a living miracle and example that God is a healer. In 2009 while preaching, Smith’s disks in his back exploded, leaving him paralyzed and hospitalized after emergency surgery. Even when others said he wouldn’t walk again, Bishop kept the faith. Five years later around the same time, he underwent another back surgery and recovered rapidly. God healed and restored him. Bishop Smith is walking, preaching and living life as a testament to the miraculous power of God. He has dedicated himself to encouraging the brokenhearted, strengthening the weak and equipping the strong within his church, family and community. Bishop Alphonso Smith is married to Elect-Lady Princess Smith and they are the proud parents of five children.
