The plan to consider a voter ID bill is back up for discussion.

Legislative leaders say they plan to bring it up once the General Assembly reconvenes next week.

The bill was vetoed in 2011 by former Gov. Bev Perdue, but our new Gov. Pat McCrory is in support of the bill.

The NAACP and other groups are opposed to the bill.

This bill will keep a lot of good people from voting.  Executive Director Bill Hall has estimated that between 100,000 to 500,000 of the 6 million voters don’t have ID in NC, with blacks making up 40 percent of that number.
