Whitney Houston passed away on Feburary 12, 2012 and according to Google’s year end Zeitgeist report on what people searched for most in 2012, it was Whitney Houston.
The reports says that Whitney’s death triggered the year’s biggest spike in U.S. search traffic.
Her name drew a greater search than Hurricane Sandy and the election of 2012, which came in second and third.
