Superstorm Sandy hit NJ head on leaving many people without power and food and taking mnay lives.  There are airports closed, subways flooded, houses lost, and lives devistated.

So local Red Cross volunteers are heading out to help those devistated by the storm and to help out with the Red Cross shelters that are in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia.  The Red Cross said all of its emergency response vehicles in North Carolina are on standby. They’re not sure just where they are headed. Their initial mission will be to deliver hot meals and drinks to victims and workers in the damaged areas, but the Red Cross said the trucks can also ferry supplies and people into storm damaged areas.”
