Following her emotional tryout on “America’s Got Talent,” Mary Joyner is headed to the Olympic Track & Field Trials in the footsteps of her late mother Florence Griffith Joyner – only Mary will be singing, not sprinting.

The 21-year-old aspiring vocalist not only floored judges Howard Stern, Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel on the NBC show [scroll down to watch], she impressed officials the Team USA Olympic Track and Field Team who were watching the episode.

According to TMZ, they offered her the opportunity to sing the national anthem at the U.S Track and Field trials in Eugene, Oregon later this month.

The rep says, “It’s great to see that Mary is achieving her goals and dreams just as her mother did.”

Florence Griffith-Joyner, nicknamed Flo-Jo, passed away in 1998 after winning 3 Olympic gold medals in the 1988 Seoul games. She was considered the fastest woman on the planet and holds the world record for both the 100m and 200m sprints
