Around 1 a.m., Magnolia Flores-Arellano was sitting in a line of slow moving traffic on Jones Sausage Road after leaving a nearby shopping center. A stranger rammed her vehicle from behind. When a passenger in her vehicle, Macario Bustos, 27, got out of the car and approached the other driver, the suspect driver asked him not to call the police. Bustos refused. The suspect shot him four times and fled the scene, according to a press release from the Garner police department.

Bustos was transported to Wake Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery. He is still being treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male. His vehicle was described as a red late-model sedan.

Both occupants of the victim’s vehicle reported that there were witnesses to both the collision and the shooting, as other cars drove around the wreck scene during the incident, according to the press release.
