For the past 21 years Moses Mathis, affectionately known as “Bicycle Man,” has been giving away refurbished bicycles to children in the area.  Mathis gave away 1,102 this year but is in need of a permanent location.

Mr. Moses, 73, accepts donated bikes throughout the year and restores them to bless the kids of families who cannot afford them.

Now Mathis is operating out of his 4th location in the last five years.  His current location doesn’t offer much parking and although he has been offered a lease to the building, he can not afford it.

He is hoping that someone with a vacant space will give him a permanent place to continue to bless the children and families in the Fayetteville area.

Mathis set a record in 2009 by giving away more than 1,200 bikes.
