The NC State fair is set to open on Thursday and to help youthere, several types of alternative transportation are being offered.
Bus services from Raleigh, Durham, Cary will begin on Thursday afternoon and run every day, and park-and-rides from Chapel Hill and Garner will operate on the weekends.
Amtrak train services begin Friday Oct. 14 and runs through the final day of the fair. Train 80 will depart from Charlotte at 7am, making stops in kannapolis, Salisbury, High Point, Greensboro, Burlington, Durham and Cary, and will depart every evening at 4:56pm.
