Mikaila Sapp, the 13-year-old daughter of Gospel recording artist Marvin Sapp, introduced her new book at two book signings last weekend.
The book signings for “The Girl Behind the Mask – The Diary of Marvin Sapp’s Daughter” were held at Woodland Skating Center and at Sapp’s church.
Mikaila Sapp is an eighth grader at Grand Rapids’ North Pointe Christian School and the book was written during the two years that her mother, MaLinda Sapp, battled the cancer that eventually took her life. According to the inside jacket, the book tells the story of a “young lady transitioning into womanhood while experiencing life changing circumstances that inevitably progress maturity at an accelerated pace”.
MaLinda Sapp passed away on September 9, 2010 of cancer. She was Administrative Pastor alongside her husband at Lighthouse Full Life Center Church in Grand Rapids, MI. In addition to Mikaila, she also left behind son Marvin II, 16 and Madisson, 11.
