President Barack Obama announced yesterday that the Gulf seafood is safe to eat right now and they are making efforts to keep it that way. The government is stepping up its inspections to help ensure that the food industry in the Gulf is getting the kind of protection and certification it needs to sell its products around the U.S. President Obama will address the nation in the oval office tonight at 8pm. Also today at 11:30 North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue is holding a news conference to discuss the oil spill and the state’s coast.
