As we all know by now Queen “O” had Mo’Nique’s brother Gerald Imes on her show. The Oscar and Academy Award has openly accused Imes of molesting her as a child. Oprah light bulb went off to book Imes for her show after Mo’Nique revealed her story during Barbara Walters Oscar special. It has been said that Oprah can be competitive and obviously didn’t want to be out done by Barbara.
Although Winfrey asked Mo’Nique if it was okay if Imes appeared on her show the actress felt that he lied during the interview and it was not sympathetic enough towards her. These are horrible circumstances for any family to face. Considering Mo’Nique has been estranged from her parents as well. Her mother stated on the show that they hadn’t spoken in almost 2 years.
