The Dallas Mavericks made Duke sensation Cooper Flagg the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft on Wednesday night.

At just 18 years old, Flagg becomes the sixth player in Duke history to be selected first overall.

He wasn’t the only Blue Devil to hear his name called early. The Charlotte Hornets chose Duke wing Kon Knueppel with the fourth pick, while the Phoenix Suns secured the rights to center Khaman Maluach, taken 10th overall.

Meanwhile, North Carolina’s Drake Powell was drafted by the Brooklyn Nets, continuing the strong showing for ACC talent on draft night.
