A blood drive is being held today/Thursday at the PNC Arena in hopes of avoiding a blood shortage during the coronavirus outbreak. The blood drive will be held from 10am to 6pm. The blood drive is sponsored by UNC REX and WakeMed in connection with The Blood Connection (TBC).

    A Cary mom accidentally hit her 1-year-old son while operating her vehicle in the driveway. Authorities said, The incident happened at about 7:30 p.m., in the 100 block of Peg Street.  The child was taken to WakeMed with serious injuries.
