Newsweek Magazine is out with its national ranking of what it considers the top high schools in the country and 14 Triangle area schools make the list.

The new Wake N.C. State STEM Early College is not slated to open until August 2011 but the recruiting process is under way for students interested in science, technology, engineering and math.

Around 8,000 Wake County students are expected to graduate this year, beginning Friday with the Wake Early College of Health and Sciences graduation ceremony.
