A year ago Dylann Roof entered the historically black church Charleston Emanuel AME which was founded during slavery and shot and killed 9 people.
Roof entered the church and was welcomed by the members to their bible study, after about an hour he then pulled out a .45-caliber handgun and fatally shot nine people, all black. Roof told authorities that he wanted to start a race war.
The victims included the Rev. Clementa Pinckney, the church’s pastor, who also served as a state senator.
