Benefit Concert for Tobias McLean

Source: flyer from family / McLean family

Earlier last month 17yr old Tobias McLean went missing after his mother and 13yr old sister were found murdered in their home in Sanford.

Husband and step father Billy Jo McLean was later found in Texas and charged with first degree murder… Tobias was also found with his step father.  Tobias learned of his abduction and murder through social media during his ordeal. Now Tobias is without parents and in need…..

Tobias’ grandmother called me on Monday and a family member sent me this message….

“Tobias Mclean, is a survivor. There is no other word more appropriate to describe the 17-year-old, Sanford, North Carolina native, after the unimaginable tragedy he has recently endured. Tobias, a fun, loving, and bright teenager continues to recover from the heinous double homicide of his mother, Calandra McLean and sister, 13-year-old Tashonna Cameron, at the hands of stepfather In a matter of a week, Tobias experienced loss that most would not recover from but amazingly he remains resilient and hopeful for his future. That future, however, needs the support of those that love him most as he now strives to honor the memory of his mother and sister by excelling in life. Tobias an avid video gamer and music lover is approaching his senior year at Southern Lee High School. Due to the fatal fire that claimed his loved ones, he is now in need of clothing, daily essentials, and financial support to make it through this pivotal time. On Saturday, August 8, 2015, starting at 12:00 pm, a Benefit Celebration in honor of Tobias’ 18th Birthday will be held at Try Jesus Ministries at 311 Carthage Street, Sanford, NC 27330. This event will serve as an opportunity to rejoice in Tobias’ survivor and help him transition from Tragedy to Triumph. All are encouraged to show support for Tobias by celebrating his 18th birthday as his extended family and providing monetary donations as well as clothing and toiletry donations. Thank you.”

National recording artists Earnest Pugh and Ruth LaOntra will be performing at this benefit event.
