Parents of third grade students at Efland-Cheeks Elementary are upset over an uninformed lesson on homosexuality.

The teacher, who is openly gay, read a book called King and King to his 3rd grade class.  The book is about a prince who defies his mom and marries a man instead of a woman.  The teacher says he was trying to address a bullying problem.

Right now the situation has drawn so much negative attention that the teacher says he plans to resign.

The school is holding a community meeting to further address concerns. It’ll be held Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the school library.
