Every Monday WRAL-TV-5’s Gerald Owens gives us a quick recap of the weekend’s big news stories and a heads up on what’s coming up in the WRAL TV-5 evening news. Owens a 20 year television veteran started his career in 1993, as a reporter trainee at WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C. and began working at WRAL TV-5 in 2002.

Today Owens recapped the following stories:

•Former Bunswick County Sherriff died Saturday while in jail on a firearms charge.

•A Raleigh man was arrested and charged with robbing several Asian restaurants.

•A Camp Lejune Marine was arrested Sunday night; charged with murder of his wife.

•Germany wins the World Cup 1-0 over Argentina.

•Tiger Woods will be back in action for a major tournament more on that this afternoon on WRAL.
