 Every Monday Owens will give a quick recap of the weekends big news stories and a heads up on what’s coming up in the WRAL TV-5 evening news.   

Owens a 20 year television veteran started his career in 1993, as a reporter trainee at WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C. and began working at WRAL TV-5 in 2002.

  • A lot of people spent a lot of time this weekend cleaning up after the ice and snow storm. Also some people are still waiting to have their power restored and the storm caused delays for people that use Amtrak for transportation. Amtrak used buses to transport people to and from Raleigh and charlotte.
  • The pregnant women that drove her Mini van it to the Atlantic Ocean with her children in side the van apprehend in court Saturday.
  • Fire Fighters were called to Extended Stay America hotel in Raleigh hotel for a hazmat issue.
  • The Big Carolina Duke game, with Duke coming out on top 93 to 81.

Tonight Gerald will talk about the missing plane and about how the Judge dismissed the jury out early in the Jeffrey A. Sinclair trial, the former Ft. Bragg General is accused of sexual assault.
