The Durham County School Board said Thursday it has reprimanded Superintendent Eric Becoats after an investigation showed he acted inappropriately by using a school activity bus and driver on two occasions in June. The bus was used to transport Dr. Becoats’ friends and family to private events over the course of the weekend, including a trip to Southpoint Mall. In arranging for use of the bus, Becoats asked to be billed for the cost of the activity bus and driver. He paid the invoiced amount. The investigation showed that the invoiced amount did not cover the full cost of the driver. Becoats was issued a revised invoice, which he has paid.
