There’s a lot going on today!

First things first, it’s my birthday!

It is also, Chick-Fil-A day.  Supporters of Chick-Fil-A are asking people to show support of the fast-food chain by showing up at local restaurants.  The goal is to show that people support marriage between a man and a woman … and to push back on the negative backlash that they have been getting for taking a stand.

The wew stretch of the Triangle Expressway also to opens today.  The state will hold a ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m. on to mark the opening of an additional 6-mile stretch of N.C. Highway 540, called the Western Wake Freeway, which runs from N.C. Highway 55 in Cary to U.S. Highway 64 in Apex.

And finally, Durham expands their public smoking ban. The ban includes city and county buildings, trails and parks and the Durham Station Transportation Center and Train Station.
