A cold front that produced storms across North Carolina killed a man in Polk county and sparked a house fire.
The Hendersonville Times-News reports that William Allison, 55, was driving home when a tree was blown over on his truck and killed him. Also firefighters responded to a house fire in Cary due to lightning. No one was injured.
Other reports include house damages due to strong winds.
