Mount Pisgah OFWB Church will celebrate 150 years of ministry. I had the opportunty to speak to the astor Bishop Reginald S. Hinton about this historic occation and and the events surrounding the celebration.  

 Mount Pisgah Harnett OFWB Church, is a   “A Fellowship of Inspired Saints Loving God and Loving People” that was established in 1860. The church will be celebrating its 150th church anniversary on October 16, 2010 with a parade in downtown Erwin as apart of their 150th year celebration.  

The parade line up starts at 9:00 am and the parade starts at 11:00 am. Following the parade there will be a transition to the Al Woodall Municipal Park formerly the Erwin Municipal Park for food, fun, gospel singing, exhibits, arts and crafts for a day of fellowship.

. The Homecoming celebration continues on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Mount Pisgah Harnett located at 145 Prospect Church Road in Erwin with morning worship service at 11:00 am followed by lunch and concluding with a 3:30 pm evening celebration with Elder Willie McLeod and the Johnston Chapel FWB Church fanily of Benson NC. The Pastor is Bishop Reginald S. Hinton. 

Bishop Reginald S. Hinton

*Born on August 29, 1955 in Apex, North Carolina to the late Carlyle and Clarine Hinton, the third child of seven children

* Graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, in August, 1977, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

* Graduate studies at Carolina Bible College, Fayetteville, North Carolina.

* Currently enrolled at Liberty University Theological Seminary, Lynchburg, Virginia.

* Retired in December 2008 from the North Carolina Department of Revenue where he served in many capacities, including Secretary of Revenue.

* Received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest civilian award granted to North Carolinians.

* Received the North State Award for dedicated service to the State of North Carolina.

* 28th year as pastor of the Mount Pisgah Harnett Original Free Will Baptist Church, Erwin, North Carolina.

* Serves as Presiding Bishop of the Original Cape Fear and Southwestern Free Will Baptist Annual Conference.

* Member of the Closing the Achievement Gap Task Force in Harnett County.

* Lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with his lovely wife Janet McClain Hinton, who has been his life partner since June 10, 1978. They have one son, Reginald, Jr., who is also in the ministry. He has two spiritual daughters, Audra Henry and Quanika McMillan.

* He loves the Lord and he loves people.
