While heading to the airport to perform for a radio event in Indianapolis, National Recording artist Darwin Hobbs became short of breath and was sent to the hospital for further observation.

Darwin just recently underwent gastric lap banding surgery to help with weight loss.  The procedure was a success but one of the side effects are blood clots if the person has very little motion or activity for long periods of time.  This is what specialist believe happened to Darwin.  The current plan of treatment is to implement an aggressive regimen of blood thinners while he is in the hospital.  Once the clots begin to dissolve, Darwin will be released from the hospital to recover at home.

Darwin issued a statement saying, “Traci and I are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this very serious and unexpected ordeal,…. we are further grateful for God’s healing power and the fact that His Blood doesn’t clot, but flows freely to all!”

Until Darwin receives an official “green light” from his cardiologist, all future public appearances have been suspended.
