Yesterday the Raleigh City Council voted unamimously in favor of outlining arguments against re-segregation of schools in Wake County.  Mayor Meeker told the coucil, “We need to do anything in our power to stop the school board.”  Opponents of the change say they fear the direction the board is headed will lead to re-segregation and pockets of good schools and bad schools.  Of course, those board members who voted in favor of the change say, they have no plans to segregate students, according to WRAL.
