Tasha Page Lockhart: A Journey of Faith, Music, and Triumph

Tasha Page Lockhart, the dynamic gospel singer and winner of Season 6 of Sunday Best, recently sat down with Melissa Wade from The Light 103.9 to discuss her journey, her music, and her upcoming performance at the BGC Live Sound of Generations concert.
The event, celebrating 150 years of Baptist Grove Church, will take place on September 19th in Raleigh, NC, and promises to be a historic night of worship and celebration.
Hailing from Detroit, Tasha now resides in Cary, NC, but her Motor City roots remain a core part of her identity.
“Detroit is in me. It ain’t ever going nowhere,” she shared with pride. Tasha’s musical journey is deeply influenced by her mother, gospel legend Lisa Page Brooks. However, she revealed that singing wasn’t always her dream. “I wanted to play basketball and be in the WNBA,” she admitted, laughing about how God had other plans for her life.
Winning Sunday Best was a turning point for Tasha, exposing her to millions of viewers and opening doors to share her testimony worldwide. “It came at the perfect time,” she reflected, noting how the victory helped her family during a period of struggle. Her transparency about overcoming challenges, including surviving sexual assault and battling addiction, has allowed her to connect deeply with her audience.
“People need to know they’re not alone and that there’s hope,” she emphasized.
Beyond music, Tasha is a multi-talented force. She’s an author, podcaster, and founder of the Daughters of the King ministry, which supports women through life’s transitions. Her upcoming in-person conference, Heart Work, will take place in November, focusing on healing and renewal.
As she prepares to take the stage alongside her mother and other gospel greats at the BGC Live concert, Tasha is filled with gratitude. “I’m blessed to share the stage with my mom and see the fruit of her prayers for me,” she said. With her signature humor and passion, she promised,
“We’re gonna be singing hard, bending back, and kicking hair!”
Tickets for the concert are selling fast, and Tasha’s excitement is contagious. Don’t miss this unforgettable night of worship and celebration.
