A water main break was reported this morning closing the inbound lanes of Capital Boulevard in Raleigh near Fairview Rd. Inbound traffic will be diverted at Atlantic Avenue. Motorists should consider alternate routes. Repaving operations are expected to be completed by 6 p.m. Tuesday, the city said Monday evening.

  A small plane landed on the shoulder of Interstate 540 in north Raleigh Tuesday morning just before 9am. Not much is known at this time and it’s unclear if anyone was injured in the incident.
