Bryan Andrew Wilson

One of the most gifted and unique singers on the gospel scene today, Bryan Andrew Wilson caught the attention of the church world in 1994 when he belted out “His Eye on the Sparrow” with the Mississippi Children’s Choir at the age of ten. On the song that has accumulated over two million YouTube hits over the years, Wilson showcased amazing vocal control and creative gymnastics for a child and his high notes could shatter crystal. That track pushed the Mississippi Children’s Choir album, “A New Creation,” to sell over 100,000 units. The success led to a recording contract with Malaco Records where the Danville, IL native recorded two Dove and Stellar Award nominated CDs produced by the likes of Kirk Franklin, John P. Kee and the late Bishop Walter Hawkins.

Over the years, Wilson appeared on TV shows such as “Bobby Jones Gospel,” “The Stellar Awards,” “Say Yes with Candi Staton,” “The Gospel of Music with Jeff Majors,” “Fox News,” “100 Huntley Street,” and “Praise the Lord” on TBN. His tune, “Grace, It’s So Amazing” is featured in the British Broadcasting Company (BBC) Radio 2 documentary, “Amazing Grace: How Sweet The Sound.” He’s also been profiled in Jet, Ebony and Sister2Sister magazines.

After high school, Wilson took a break from recording and earned a B.A. in theology from Claflin University in Columbia, SC and then worked on his master’s of divinity at Princeton University Theological Seminary. In 2008, he released “A Second Coming,” the first CD where he wrote or co-wrote all the songs. It was also the first on his own recording label, Bryan’s Songs Records. Billboard magazine’s gospel critic Gordon Ely named the contemporary gospel CD one of the Top Ten CDs of 2008.

In 2010, Wilson’s track, “If You’re Talking About Jesus,” was featured on the Top Ten smash CD “Shoutin’ Down the Aisles” that was featured in Time Life Music’s commercial campaign on Black Entertainment Television (BET) and TV One.  The CD “Limited Edition” featured Wilson’s Top 40 hit “Everybody Clap Your Hands.” His current Top 20 CD “The One Percent…” is a fusion of retro soul, urban beats and sanctified soul with a clear message of faith in God.  The initial radio single “Turning Away” spent the entire summer in the Billboard Top 25 Gospel Airplay chart where it peaked at #15 in August 2014. His current praise and worship single “Overflow” has put him back in the Billboard Top 15.

In 2012, Wilson, who is also a preaching evangelist, was ordained a Bishop of the Bapolstogic Movement, a 501C3 organization he founded to bring authentic Pentecostal worship to Generations X, Y and beyond through crusades, convocations and other spiritual assemblies.
