Today I shine the spotlight on Pastor Charles Jenkins who was one of the featured performers for our 14th annual Lamplighter Awards Presented by your Local McDonald’s Owner Operators. Pastor Jenkins put on an amazing performance. He only sang one song “War” (extended version) and had the Duke Energy Center for The Performing Arts rocking.
Everyone was on their feet singing, clapping their hand and stomping their feet to the number one hit song. This was Jenkins second time performing at the Lamplighter Awards Show. The first time he performed his number 1 hit song “Awesome”.
Pastor Charles Jenkins is the Pastor of Fellowship Chicago Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church founded by ReverendClay Evans. He was born on December 14, 1975. Jenkins graduated from both Moody Bible Institute and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
Jenkins music career started in 2012 when he released his CD project on June 12, 2012 “The Best of Both Worlds by Inspired People” The project was released on the EMI Gospel record label ad charted at No. 41 on The Billboard Top 200 and at No. 1 on the Gospel Albums chart. The lead song on the CD “Awesome” charted at No. 1 on the Billboard Gospel charts for 5 months.
Jenkins followed up with a CD project titled “Any Given Sunday”, which was released on March 17, 2015. The album charted on The Billboard 200 at No. 90 and No. 1 on the Gospel Albums chart.
Pastor Charles Jenkins is married to Dr. Tara Rawls Jenkins, and has three children, Princess, Paris, and Charles III.
