The result of the new budget plans means teachers will not receive raises and their pay will remain near the bottom of national rankings and more than 3,850 teacher assistant positions will disappear.

Today, the North Carolina Association of Educators announced plans to try to block key provisions in the $20.6 billion spending plan.

Many fear that this will make good teacher leave NC to go somewhere else or find a new line of employment.  The NCAE President Rodney Ellis says this is like saying “Quality educators need not apply.”
